Community car schemes across Cambridgeshire are looking for volunteers to transport people without access to their own transport to their Covid-19 vaccination appointments.
We’re looking for volunteers who are willing to collect people from their homes, give them a warm greeting and get to them to their appointment on time in a COVID secure way. Of course, they’ll then drive them back home. This is a wonderful opportunity to ‘do your bit’ in the local community. If you have spare time, your own transport and want to do your bit to help us beat the pandemic, then sign-up with your local car scheme.
There are a number of local car schemes offering transport to people aged 80 and over who are unable to attend a vaccination appointment for a number of reasons, perhaps because they don’t drive, or have family close-by, or a support bubble that can help them or they cannot afford a taxi.
